The solution

Imperial War Museum - Manchester [Great Britain]

The futuristic building that stands on the Trafford pier in Manchester is the work of Daniel Libeskind. At the base of the design there is a globe that is broken into three pieces representing the disruptive effect of wars on the history of the world. The building does effectively have its own figured language which can be collected in three parts (air, land and water) where, through projections, sounds and lighting effects, the visitor becomes involved in the tragic experience of the battle.
