The Centre at Kourou is the ESA (European Space Agency) launch base. It was founded in 1975, and 15 countries are involved along with a staff of 1,850 people. The Centre has a surface area of 96,000 hectares with 1,400 employees. ESA's greatest success was Ariane 4 which from 1985 to 2003 was launched 113 times and represented 50% of the global market of commercial launches. Starting from 2007 the Kouros space port will also be used by the Russians for the launch of thee Soyuz.
The solution
The more than one hundred central air handling units have a capacity that varies from 2,000 to 50,000 m³/hour. The 200 mounted fan coils are the skirted FCX and ducted LFC types.
